PIC and Season cards
There is a list of different types of PIC cards (the cards
based on PIC16C84 or 16F84):
Type | Software |
A. 1xPIC (RB7) - single PIC card |
PIC software signed as
"single PIC(RB7)", Multimac I |
B. 1xPIC (RB6) - single PIC card |
PIC software signed as
"single PIC(RB6)", Multimac I |
C. 1xPIC (RB7), 1xEEPROM - Multimac II | Multimac II |
D. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7) - twine PIC card | Wgtbeta (master RB6) |
E. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7), 1xEEPROM - quadra | Wgtquadra |
F. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7), 2xEEPROM - quadra | ? |
The PIC cards are also made as "wafer cards". These cards look like real smard cards. There are now three slightly different versions:
Type | Software |
G. 1xPIC(RB7) - wafer card | software signed as "single
PIC(RB7)", Multimac I |
H.1xPIC(RB7), 1xEEPROM - MM2 wafer card | Multimac II |
J. 1xPIC(RB7), 1xEEPROM - gold MM2 wafer card | Multimac II (v 2.13 and higher) |
The difference between the card 'J' and 'H' is, that only
the EEPROM of 'H' card is connected to the smartcard pads C4 and C8 as the MM2 card. It
means, that the EEPROM of 'J' card must be programmed in a different way using Phoenix
interface and special software .
The wafer cards now used PIC16F84 processors and are delivered in version 'G' and 'J'.
PIC16C84 and PIC16F84
PIC16F84 is fully backward compatible with PIC16C84. This means software made for 16C84 works on both 16C84 and 16F84, but some software made for 16F84 would only work on 16F84. The only thing you need to do diffrently before programing PIC16F84, is to set the fuse 'Powered-up Timer' (PWRT) to ON.
Multimac II card
mmiic.bmp - PCB of PIC card (MM2)
for DIL-chips
mmiicl.bmp - PCB of PIC card (MM2) for DIL-chips - long version for
MPEG2 CAM
The PCB is about 0.8 mm thick. Sockets for chips are recommended. The PCB can be used for
these types of the decrypt cars:
Type | Chips |
A. 1xPIC (RB7) - single PIC card | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 |
C. 1xPIC (RB7), 1xEEPROM - Multimac II | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 |
Chips can be programmed in a programmer socket as well as on the board. After programming pads C4 and C8 can be disconected for right function of some decoders.
Triple card
triplec.bmp - PCB of PIC card
(Triple) for SMD-chips (EEPROM can be DIL, too)
triplecl.bmp - PCB of PIC card (Triple) for SMD-chips - long
version for MPEG2 CAM
The PCB is about 0.8 mm thick and has three wire connections. The PCB can be used for
these types of the decrypt cars:
Type | Chips |
A. 1xPIC (RB7) - single PIC card | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 |
B. 1xPIC (RB6) - single PIC card | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 |
C. 1xPIC (RB7), 1xEEPROM - Multimac II | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 |
D. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7) - twine PIC card | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 |
E. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7), 1xEEPROM - quadra | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 |
Chips can be programmed only on the board.
Quadra card
quadrac.bmp - PCB of PIC card
(Quadra) for DIL-chips
quadracl.bmp - PCB of PIC card (Quadra) for DIL-chips - long
version for MPEG2 CAM
The PCB is about 0.8 mm thick and has one wire connection. Sockets for chips are
recommended. The PCB can be used for these types of the decrypt cars:
Type | Chips |
A. 1xPIC (RB7) - single PIC card | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 |
B. 1xPIC (RB6) - single PIC card | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 |
C. 1xPIC (RB7), 1xEEPROM - Multimac II | SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 |
D. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7) - twine PIC card | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 |
E. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7), 1xEEPROM - quadra | MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 |
F. 2xPIC (RB6, RB7), 2xEEPROM -
quadra Attention! EEPROM2 can be programmed only in a socket! |
MASTER(RB6) - PIC16F84 SLAVE(RB7) - PIC16F84 EEPROM1 - 24C16 EEPROM2 - 24C16 |
Chips (exept the EEPROM2) can be programmed in a programmer socket as well as on the board. After programming pads C4 and C8 can be disconected for right function of some decoders.
Season card
seasonc.bmp - PCB of season card
seasoncl.bmp - PCB of season card - long version for MPEG2 CAM
The PCB is about 0.8 mm thick. Connection with a PC is made by a cable 1-1, 9pin
connectors, male-female.
Basic schematic diagram of the season card:
--------------------------------------------
A resistor 390R is used insted of 1/6 7407.
Update: Season interface suitable for Conax (FreeCam and H5400) needs two chips, so use some of the Collection of PCB (PIC, Season, Ludipipo, Phoenix, SmartMouse) - packet F1.
